Dear Curling Membership,
On behalf of Dundas Valley, we would like to thank everyone for an amazing season! Through the ongoing developments of COVID-19, and complex operational logistics of ice maintenance during closure, the remainder of the 2019/2020 curling season will be cancelled. Though this is not the end we had all hoped for, there were some great accomplishments this year! A special shoutout to Lori Eddy, McMaster Women & Men, the Mohawk Team, Team Jacob Jones, Stephanie Matheson, Team Harrison, and Eric & Meesa – you all represented Dundas Valley with heart and competitive spirit on local, provincial, and national stages this year.
Curling at Dundas Valley is more than just a game – it’s a community. As we look back on our season, there are a lot of wonderful memories to be proud of and celebrated with friends and family. This year, the Banquet on April 9th remains on schedule as planned. Come join your friends to celebrate a great season, and many to come.
Due to the Club Closure from March 15 – April 6, the following curling events scheduled for this season have been affected:
- • Dinner League, March 21st – Cancelled
- • Thursday Ladies League Closing Lunch, April 2nd – Cancelled
- • Mixed Social Closing Lunch, April 5th – Postponed, Date TBD
- • Tuesday Ladies League Closing Lunch, April 7th – Postponed, Date TBD
- • Sr. Men’s Closing Lunch, April 8th – Postponed, Date TBD
We would also like to remind all members that, though the season was cut short, we will not be adjusting the food & beverage minimums, as it is a 12 month program. Please come and use your club during the spring, summer and early fall months.
In addition, while the club is sympathetic to how the season ended, we will still need to cover expenses and therefore, no refunds to dues will be extended. Having said this, we will come up with a creative way to add some value back to the curling members over the course of the summer season. Please stay tuned for a chance to get involved.
We have a fantastic membership here at Dundas Valley, thank you for your support and feedback this season. I want to thank all of our volunteer convenors for a job well done and for going above and beyond with extra effort they put in this year.
Wishing you and your families good health,
Hendrick van der Geld
