Congratulations to our Flyte Winners this session: Teams M. Blonski, Henricks, Schellenberg, White, Pickthall, Wardlaw and Martindale. In what has quickly become the most competitive and tightly contested season in league history, you have risen above the rest!
Schedules for the 3rd series will be posted sometime during the holidays, likely through an eggnog included haze. We will be returning on January 3rd and 4th, off the following week of January 10th and 11th due to the Hamilton Districts, and then returning on January 17th and 18th. After that, there will be no additional breaks in the schedule until the end of the season (currently scheduled for either April 4th or 11th).
I also want to give a gentle reminder that the Open League does follow standard OCA/CurlON (Curling Ontario) and Curling Canada rules of play which states you may only use one broom and one throwing device per game. There will almost certainly be additional rule changes coming in the following season (likely the 5 rock Free Guard Zone and banning of hair brooms from club play) as it’s the start of a new Olympic cycle, so I’ll do my best to keep everyone informed and to adjust the league accordingly!
Finally, have a great holiday season and we’ll see you all in the new year!
