Congratulations to this sessions winners: Team K. Blonski, Goll, Maslin, and our three-way tie, Richards, Styles, and Vollick. Your success has brought hope to the rest of us that one day we will be as awesome as you!
Schedules for Session 3 will be posted sometime over the break (even the convener needs a rest occasionally). We will be returning on January 7th and 8th, skipping the following week due to the districts and then running straight through to the end of the season. Don’t forget, the end of the year banquet and finals take place on April 8th!
Due to the volume of ties this session, I wanted to include a brief explanation as to how the ties were broken. As a reminder, the rules state that ties are broken by head-to-head results first, and then by accumulated league points and then, if no other option is available, they are broken by convener discretion.
The C Flyte 3-way-tie could not be broken by head to head results since each team had a 1-1 record against the other two (Richards beat Styles, Styles beat Vollick, Vollick beat Richards). So, the tie was officially broken by accumulated league points, meaning that Team Styles will be moving up to B Flyte in Session 3.
The B Flyte 4-way-tie was broken by head-to-head results. Of the 4 teams tied, two of them had 2-1 records against the others in the tied sub-group, and two had 1-2 records against the others in the sub-group. This means that Teams C. Knapp and Gomes will be staying in B Flyte, and Teams Reimer and Shiraishi will drop to C Flyte.
Hopefully this helps clarify the logic behind the decisions!
Have a safe and happy holiday season!
